Browsing the Shelves

Blair Castellano sat in the Hogwarts library, quite a substantial pile of books perched next to her. She impatiently flipped through the one currently in her hands and tossed it aside, snapping at it to shut up as it let out a ghostly wail. "I'll never find the right information..." she said to herself, beginning to get discouraged. She was looking for instructions on how to become an Animagus, but a lot of the Hogwarts books just briefly mentioned the subject before moving on. Growing more frustrated by the minute, Blair flung the next book to the other pile and sighed, crossing her arms and glaring at the barely-lessening pile before her. This was going to take a while.

Draco had been slithering around in the library for quite some time. He had no purpose to be in the large room, just to make fun of it. My own collections much larger.. He thought to himself with a blinding smirk that would stop any first year dead in their tracks. He glared around at the dust covered books, tatterd from use and neglect no doubt. The slytherin boys brow furrowed as he crossed his arms, staring at one particularily tattered black book. "Pathetic. He grumbled to himself, continuing to stare at the damaged book. Something pulled him out of his trance-like state. A loud cracking-whailing sound filled the large room, causing Draco to nearly jump a foot. His head shot towards the direction it had came from, a similar sound followed by a thud sounded off moments later and he went stalking towards it to see what was causing the noise.

Draco snuck out of the shadows cast by the numerous shelves of books. Like a feral cat on the prowl he made his way towards the table which was occupied by a Ginger haired female. Better not be Weaselette He thought, cringing to himself as he pictured the annoying little git in his head. A small smirk danced across his face as he glared down at the girl, who seemed to have not taken notice of him yet. Looking over at the large pile of books accumulating on the floor, she must be studying something. "What the devil are you doing, studying for some bloody exam?" His small smirk quickly flared into a devilish grin as he walked towards the pile, picking up a book and scanning through it rather quickly. Stopping on one particular page, his pale finger poking at an image of a man quickly transforming into a Rat. Animagus..is that what shes after.. He thought to himself, staring back at the girl, awaiting a response from her.

"Not quite," Blair retorted, her head snapping up so she could fix her eyes on the male who had intruded her bubble. "Just a little bit of a personal endeavor..." she trailed off and grabbed another book, absentmindedly flipping through it. "Who are you, anyway?" She asked the boy, trying to direct the conversation away from herself. He looked somewhat familiar, with the blond hair... "Wait, you're a Malfoy, aren't you?" She said, her own mouth turning up in a sly grin.

"Draco Malfoy, at your service." The blonde haired boy turned on his heels, spinning to face the girl before waving his hand before him, the motion mixed with a soft bow. He approached the table she was sitting at once more, leaning to the side until his palm hit the table, his free hand stashed securely in his pocket. "What exactly are you looking for then?" his mind kept drifting to the possibility of her wanting knowledge of the animagus. He himself was one, and an unregistered one at that. He had practiced the ability with Bellatrix before the redheaded git that was 'ikkle ronniekins' mother, killed her. The thought of that pathetic gingers nickname caused him to chuckle. He thought of transforming before the female, but quickly opted not to, seeing the move could be rather risky. Not to mention the hag McGonagall could walk in at any moment. Draco shifted slightly, peering over the table, trying to get a glimpse at whatever it was she was reading.

Blair sighed and pulled the book to her chest, her bright green eyes fixed on Draco. "I'm looking for information on becoming an Animagus," she said hesitantly, unsure how he was going to react. This wasn't an easy feat to accomplish, nor was Blair thinking of registering herself. She didn't want to tell the boy too much, though, in case she couldn't trust him. "Sadly, though, the library is failing me..." There was a sadness in Blair's voice; the library had not yet failed her. This was a first.

So she was looking to become an animagus! The newfound fact caused Draco to grin as he stared at her for several brief moments. He pushed off the desk crossing his arms as he cocked his head to the side, a defilish smirk still present on his face."Animagus eh? Ever see one transform in person?" Dracos steal colored eyes seemed to sparkle for a moment at the mention of the transformation. His tongue darted out, running across his pale lips as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "I could show you, its fairly intriguing." The slender blonde shook his head, tossling a mess of pale wavy hair to one side and out of his face. He had found that people liked his hair more that way, wavy and messy rather than smooth and straight like he would have normally wore it. He received a number of compliments hat day, after Harry saved his arse in the room of requirements. Including one from bloody Voldemort himself which of course he ignored. He hated hat stupid prat with a burning passion, frankly he was glad the git was dead.

Blair's green eyes glinted as she looked at the blond boy before her. "No, I haven't had that privilege," she said coyly, biting down on her bottom lip and running her hand absentmindedly through her hair. "I would love to, though... I envy those who have that ability." Blair quickly silenced herself, again not wanting to give too much away. "It's quite a process, I've heard. Not to mention registering yourself with the Ministry and everything." She closed the book that had been resting against her chest and threw it into the still-growing pile of literature. "What do you know about Animagi?" Blair grinned at Draco, raising an eyebrow. He seemed to know more than he was letting on...

"Well, I know its a difficult process, not to mention the countless months you have to practice." Draco spat out, absentmindedly running a hand through his messy hair. ["I know unregistered Animagi can get in a handful of trouble, if there caught. I could help you practice, it requires a bloody large amount of focus though, that and determination." He rubbed the back of his head, stepping forwards slightly, closing his eyes. He hunched over as his features began to change. His clothes ripped and fell to the floor as fur replaced them. A rather tossled blonde mane formed around his neck and shoulders as his face became more feline. Several seconds passed before the transformation was complete. Dracos frame erupted with a sort of purr as his head cocked to the side, a sort of Are you impressed look shone on his face as he stalked towards the table, his heavy paws slamming against the floor with each step he took. Draco had transformed into a rather large, white lion. His mane still the same dusty blonde color that his hair was, his eyes..still the same almost soulless steely gray.

Blair's eyes widened with shock as she took in Malfoy's animal form. "That's incredible," she said in awe. Her green eyes looked over his long, catlike form and her mind raced with this new information. "How did you manage that?" she asked him. She wasn't sure if she wanted to ask him to teach her what he knew, but wasn't sure he would be willing to do so. Her hand reached out, as if to touch him, but stopped short of his body. She wasn't sure how he would react to the sensation of her touch, so she withdrew her hand and put it back in her lap, still dazedly looking at the cat before her.

Dracos frame shuddered as he watched the female reach towards him only to quickly pull her hand back. His tail flicked gently behind him as he stuck his head out towards her hand, prodding at her arm with his muzzle as he seemed to smirk. Concentrate, youve got to imagine the transformation, feel the energy pulse through you. Itll take some practice. Try it, just..focus Draco purred as the words formed in his head, speaking to her telepathically, another trick his aunt Bellatrix had taught him. He nudged her hand once more before backing away several feet to flop onto his side. His long slender tail flicking and brushing against the floor as he awaited her reaction.

Blair did as Draco had told her, still in a little bit of shock from not only having seen him transform in front of her, but having him communicate with her telepathically. That was definitely something she was not used to. She closed her eyes and focused, caught a bit off-guard when she felt an almost feline form stir deep inside of her. Her eyes snapped open. "Woah," she said, taking a moment to collect her thoughts once more and closing her eyes, letting the animal in her begin to explore a little bit.

Draco mewld almost innocently, or at least as innocent as a lion can get. His tail thudded against a bookshelf as he rolled onto his back, his head lolling to one side as his jaws stretched open, a rumbling soind errupting from his chest as he yawned. He swatted aimlessly at a spec of dust floating above him, roaring softly as it floated away, still holding his attention as he sprung up, pouncing after it like a kitten pouncing after its mothers tail. Minutes passed, spent chasing that stupid spec, before he came to his senses. Realizing how pathetic he probly looked he shot into a sitting position, holding his head hight hoping the girl had been too concentrated to notice his childishness.

There was a smile on Blair's face as she concentrated, her green eyes still closed. She was focused and could feel her animal form just barely beginning to take shape inside of her - she could tell for sure it was feline, at least. This did not surprise her, however, as she had always been very cat-like, even as a human, and had had multiple people tell her that she would be a cat in her next life. It only made sense that it would also be her Animagus form. "I can feel something," she finally said, her eyes opening and fixing back on Draco. "I'm not sure exactly what yet, but there's something there." Blair smiled and bit her lip, hardly daring to let herself get too excited over this new development.

Dracos ears flicked towards her as he glanced over. Heavy pawsteps sounded as he padded behind th chair she was sitting in, nudging it carefully with his front paws in means for her to stand. His form quickly changed back to his human state, leaving draco scrambling to fix his now crooked clothing. "At least you can feel something, that part took me at least a bloody week." he chuckled softly, pulling his wand out to tap at the chair. "Moving on, you've got to stand for this part, and envision your, appearance changing..Its tricky and you may get stuck about halfway which will need to be reversed with a spell. Just imagine yourself with the features of whatever animal your body has selected for you."

Blair was a little surprised that she was advancing so quickly, but stood and eagerly took in every word Draco said. She quickly calmed herself and focused once more, this time allowing the deep, feline urge to begin taking over her body. "Oh," she said as she felt her insides begin to squirm. Her eyes opened and she took a deep breath before closing them again and getting used to the feeling.

With a flick of his wand he summoned a bittle of firewhisky. He took a subtitle swig, watching the girl carefully. "Keep at it, you'll have it down in no time at this rate." The slender slytherin boy chuckled, sliding into the floor before crossing his legs, leaning back against he bookshelf to get comfortable. The firewhisky seemed to glow inside the bottle as Draco held it up, wiggling the bottle to watch its contents swish around inside. He smirked softly, taking another sip. He wasn't diving head first into the bottle like Weasley would, after all he wasn't keen on getting wasted in the middle of the day, and in the library to top it off. He took a third sip, setting the bottle down beside him gently, not even thinking to offer some to the girl.

Draco's eyes nearly bulged out of his skull as he watched her begin to transform."Bloody hell.." he whispered to himself, scolding himself soon after for reciting something that stupid Weasel recited so often. How had she managed to get the whole transformation down so quick! This had to break a record or something. Draco reached for the bottle of firewhisky, taking a swig before setting it back down to watch the rest of the transformation unfold.

Blair had always been a very strong-willed witch, and found most magical endeavours quite easy - this one proved to be more difficult, but she was too determined to get it right to turn back now. She let her body finish what it had started and opened her eyes as she felt the changes stop. She looked around the room and at Draco, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. She looked down at her fur, which was a rich white and speckled with dark spots. I must be a snow leopard, she thought to herself - they were the only white cats that came to her mind (apart from tigers, but they were striped, not spotted.) She opened her mouth and let her tongue explore her new teeth, a little shock running through her new body as she felt how sharp they were. Once she was finished, she turned her head back to Draco and tilted it, as if asking how she had done.

"Blimey..". Draco mumbled, staring at the feline that sat before him. Without even thinking his body started to contort, pushing him into his transformation. He grunted as the fur began to grow in and bones began to snap, the transformation was relatively quick and painless and within seconds he took the same form he had before, a lion. Striding over to the female he brushed his shoulder against her, giving her a soft nudge of approval, a job well done of sorts. He glanced back over at the bottle of firewhisky, purring as he padded over to it inhaling the strong scent. He went to grab it, only to remember seconds to late he was a feline, knocking it over accidentally with an oversized paw. He watched the golden liquid pour from the bottle with horror. Scrambling to lap it up quickly all while trying to push the bottle back upright with his nose, and not break it.

Dracos tail flickered as he bounded up onto a table. He very gracefully lept atop one of the fragile bookshelves, balancing on it with extreme caution. She would have to learn to fight in her feline form, without magic. It was impossible to use magic once transformed. Draco huffed, almost waggling his eyebrows at her, if he had any, challenging her. Her movements would have to be sharp and precise, balancing her weight to not topple the bookshelf. He had much practice with this. Daringly draco moved, padding along the thin top of the bookshelf he was on. Watchig the female, he waited for her to say or do something. Later he would teach her telepathy, only in her feline form because for them that was the only time they could use it.

Draco went tumbling to the ground. Errupting in a throaty laughter as they fell though it sounded more like a roar. He rolled over quickly, his long legs carrying him clear across the room, dissappearing behind a shelf. He quickly went into stealth mode, bunding atop a shelf quietly, hoping to catch her off guard after she went running after him, if she was goin to that is.
